Summary: Sully is there when Trish is upset, like always.


They’re trapped in the Cannery, trying to come up with a plan. Trish is sitting in the corner, arms wrapped around herself. Sully goes up to the bar and pours a shot. The Cannery’s owner is probably going to be pissed at all the damage and booze drinking they’re doing, when and if they find out. Whatever, Sully thinks. All’s fair in love and war, and it sure as hell feels like a war zone. So Sully pours the shot and takes it over to Trish.

“You look like you could use this,” Sully says, sitting down in the chair opposite her.

She downs it and slams the glass to the table. “Thanks,” she says.

“You remember that time Henry and I were on a break?” She asks after a minute of silence.

He snorts.

“I tried to hit on you. But can you blame me? Sad hot rich girl: Hell yeah I’d try to hit that,” Sully says, defensive.

Trish smiles, a little weak around the edges.

“You brought me Chinese food and booze, and a kung fu movie to cheer me up,”

“To get in your pants,” Sully points out.

“Yeah. And to cheer me up,” Trish says, holding up her empty shot glass pointedly.

“Yeah, whatever,” Sully says, avoiding her gaze.

“You’re a good man, Chris Sullivan,” Trish says, getting up. She kisses Sully’s cheek and goes over to Henry, who puts his arm around her waist and keeps talking strategy.

Sully watches her go, and thinks being a good man is an okay thing to be.

2. The camo war paint felt natural, like applying it to her face and legs is something she's done a million times before, even though she doesn't know why she picked it up in the first place.

3. She tries unsuccessfully to hide her tears, but she hardly cares because Guile is alive.

Guile

1. He has to admit, that petite blonde from Delta Red is good, and not too hard on the eyes either.

2. He thinks about Charlie's wife and kid and punches the bag harder, picturing Bison's face instead.

Abby Mills

1. He touches her hair, and for one brief second she forgets what he's done, but in the end there is no going back.

Li Meiling is and has been many things, but a delicate lotus flower is not one of them. She is not there to be admired and she will not be damaged at the slightest mishandling. She will not passively let some man pluck at her petals until there is nothing left to her.

Meiling has no magic, the only one of her generation without it, but she is by no means defenseless. She is strong, both in body and will, and no one will stand in her way when she decides she wants something.

There is only one man in her life, and he might always hold that place. It causes her no grief now, to think that she will not be the only woman in his. Meiling is no longer the little girl crying to a friend over her loss to a cherry blossom.

She has matured, blossomed into a grown woman, and though her thorns may be smaller now, they are not gone.

Li Meiling will never be a lotus.


Mei Ling means either Beautiful and Delicate or Beautiful Jade. Mei Lian, a similar name, means Beautiful Lotus. The more you know, right?

I feel like I'm being remiss in my duties by talking about The Veronicas but not actually explaining anything about them.

The Veronicas are Australian (from Brisbane), and consist of twin sisters Jess and Lisa Origliasso. That have a backing band, too, but they're not really important. ("Jungle George" on gutars, Vik Foxx on drums, Mike Sherman bass)

When they were little, Jess and Lisa did some TV stuff. That was a few years before creating a band with a friend that was a minor success. They wrote songs for some other people, including TaTu. you know, that Russian duo that was all about the lesbian stage gay. Then they decided they wanted to write some stuff for themselves.

They got the idea for their new band name from the movie Heathers and if that's not awesome than I just don't know what to do with you.

They've released two CDs, The Secret Life of... and Hook Me Up and made appearances on both The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (for all you Disney people) and the new 90210.

Lisa marched during the Repeal Prop 8 protests (like Pete did). Jess was caught kissing girls and had supposed topless pictures of her spread on the internet (sound familiar?)

Jess and Lisa are really close and obviously love each other, even when they get on each other's nerves.

Ok, so Spencer, Ryan, and Brent are brothers who are doing their own thing. Spencer's becoming a chef, Ryan is a bohemian poet or something, and Brent's in school. Then Grandmother Smith dies and leaves the three of them the Smith family house. They're reunited and when they're going through everything, Ryan finds this old book in the attic and reads something out of it. Turns out it's a book of MAGIC SPELLS and that the three of them are WITCHES, destined to fight evil with their very strong magic. They have the Power of Three and FIGHT DEMONS.

They have to hire a repairman because of everything that gets broken in Demon Fights, so they hire Jon Walker, who is secretly a White Lighter sent to protect the three of them! Spencer and Jon fall in love, but it's FORBIDDEN because he is a white lighter and Spencer is one of his charges! They have to go behind the Elder's back and there is angst and eventually they are allowed to be together! They get married and have really really powerfull babies!

Brent winds up dying (Sorry Brent!) and the power of three is broken, and at his funeral this boy with dark hair and red framed glasses comes up to Ryan and it turns out that Brendon is actually thier half brother from their mother's affair with HER White Lighter, which was covered up because it was still FORBIDDEN then. The Power of the Three is restored.

Pete can be Cole? And he and Ryan have this really kind of fucked up relationship, and I didn't really pay attention to that story arc because it bored me. And, um. Their policeman friend who knows about them and sometimes covers for them can be...Um..Travie? Travis would be a Kick Ass cop guy. And he has angst because he's always helping those Smith brothers and is never home with his husband William! Or something.

And yes, I am aware that I'm fudging the Charmed cannon but I do not care. I want this fic.
